MS Oakes was tasked with completing improvement works on a wheat storage barn to ensure compliance with the ‘Red Tractor’ assurance scheme, which upholds standards at every stage of farmed food production in the UK.
The project involved the safe removal and disposal of asbestos cladding, which was replaced with new cement cladding designed to match the original profile. Additional improvements included laying a durable concrete slab floor and constructing a robust blockwork retaining wall to enhance structural integrity.
Given the barn’s location on an active farm, we worked closely with the tenant farmer to coordinate access, deliveries, and vehicle movements. This collaboration ensured minimal disruption to daily farm operations and maintained seamless progress throughout the project.
The project delivered successfully on time and within budget.
