Mark Oakes

Managing Director

An accomplished Managing Director with nearly 40 years of experience in the construction sector, Mark holds financial oversight of our business and is responsible for all management, operational, and policy matters.  Mark is adept at leading a high-performing team, driving business growth and delivering excellence in client service. He is driven to manage costs while maintaining high-quality standards, establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with clients and suppliers.

Mark also represents MS Oakes Ltd on the Norwich Building Safety Group Management Committee.

Danny Brunton MCIOB

Construction Manager

Danny is an experienced business manager with over 35 years in the construction industry, offering in-depth expertise in construction processes, health and safety, and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Managing Director, Danny is responsible for all construction activity and has direct oversight of key projects undertaken by the MS Oakes team. He excels in understanding and anticipating customer needs, drawing on a solid background managing complex projects that require advanced planning and strong organisational skills.

Paul Shaw

Contracts Manager

Paul has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, working for both large national organisations and smaller family-owned firms. Paul is an accomplished Contracts Manager recognised for his organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. He effectively oversees a diverse portfolio of work, from smaller projects to those valued up to £1 million. Known for his technical expertise and mindset, Paul’s in-depth knowledge of construction details and methodology, contribute significantly to successful project delivery.

Richard Gill

Small Works Manager

Richard is a skilled manager with extensive on-site experience and strong interpersonal skills, as well as a focus on quality assurance. Richard oversees projects up to £100,000 in value, including more complex projects where there may be long lead times for materials or limited on-site access, and serves as the primary point of contact for direct enquiries. His background and an expertise in carpentry, combined with his methodical approach, ensures that the projects he manages are consistently completed on time and within budget.

Richard is also our appointed Mental Health First Aider.

Andy Sturrock

Site Manager

A skilled site manager with over 20 years of experience in managing both new build and refurbishment projects of up to £1.5 million, Andy is recognised for his ability to address challenges as they arise, maintaining focus on the big picture while managing critical details. His experience spans both new builds and extensive refurbishment projects, using many different materials and construction systems, including sites requiring complex scaffolding design and construction. A strong leader with proven motivational abilities, Andy has a track record of building, managing, and training high-performing teams.

Nigel Moore

Site Manager

Working for MS Oakes Ltd for over 35 years, Nigel has extensive experience in managing construction projects ranging from a few thousand pounds up to £1million, including new build and refurbishment, commercial and residential schemes. Nigel is a skilled communicator with a proven track record in building and nurturing strong relationships with both clients and subcontractors. He has a keen eye for detail, ensuring high-quality work is consistently delivered across all the projects he manages.

Karl Peek

Site Manager

Karl has over 20 years of experience managing wide variety of commercial and residential construction projects, including sites that require complex scaffolding design and construction. Karl is a proactive site manager skilled at identifying potential issues early. His sharp attention to detail, combined with a strategic view of project goals, ensures high-quality results. Karl is known for his strong communication skills and his ability to collaborate effectively with all project stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
