Construction specialist MS Oakes has successfully completed a series of high-quality improvements at Harleston House care home in Lowestoft, reinforcing its reputation for delivering tailored solutions in specialist care environments.
The award-winning charitable care home, which provides not-for-profit residential and respite care for people living with dementia, required significant updates to improve accessibility and comfort for its residents.
MS Oakes carried out a full redevelopment of the reception and entrance lobby, installing automatic doors alongside a secure, camera-controlled entry system. Internal walls were removed to open up and modernise living spaces, supported by new structural beams, while a new lift lobby was constructed with fire-rated partitions and contemporary aluminium screens and doors.
The upgrades not only enhance safety, accessibility, and comfort for residents, families, and staff, but also highlight MS Oakes’ expertise in delivering bespoke construction projects with precision and care. By completing these improvements, MS Oakes has helped ensure that Harleston House can continue to deliver award-winning dementia care in a setting that supports dignity, independence, and community.
“We are proud to have supported Harleston House with these vital improvements,” said Danny Brunton, Construction Manager at MS Oakes. “Our team understands the importance of creating safe, welcoming spaces for vulnerable residents, and we are delighted that our work will help the care home continue providing outstanding support for the local community.”
