MS Oakes recently completed a sensitive window replacement project on Aldeburgh’s historic High Street, located within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Aldeburgh Conservation Area.
The property’s original sash windows were beyond repair and, due to the area’s strict conservation guidelines, replacements had to be crafted with precision to match the originals. Maintaining the building’s architectural character was essential, with a focus on preserving its visual harmony within this protected setting.
Our sister company, MS Oakes Joinery, manufactured bespoke hardwood sash windows, carefully designed to replicate the originals while integrating modern slimline double glazing. This solution offered improved thermal efficiency without compromising the building’s heritage appearance.
This project reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, conservation, and delivering tailored solutions that respect the history and context of every site we work on.
