MS Oakes was appointed to replace seven sash windows that were beyond repair at a residential property on Aldeburgh’s historic High Street.
Located within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and designated as part of the Aldeburgh Conservation Area, the property required sensitive restoration in line with local planning requirements. To preserve the building’s architectural integrity, all replacement windows had to match the originals precisely in style and appearance.
Bespoke hardwood sash windows were manufactured by our sister company, MS Oakes Joinery, incorporating slimline double glazing. This approach maintained the original aesthetic while significantly improving the property’s thermal efficiency.
Client quote: “A huge thank you for the amazing windows you and your team installed. They are absolutely fantastic and so wonderful to open – I keep trying them! They have been much admired and now they are painted, they are a sight to behold!!
Please thank those who have put in so much time to make them and put them in. We are exceedingly happy with them and will be for many years to come.”
